How long does it take to implement MedSupport eMAR?
Our live superuser configuration and training sessions set you up for a successful go-live. After superuser trainings, most agencies’ pilot locations begin using our system within 3-4 weeks, with additional locations going live 2-4 weeks after that. Visit our implementation page for more details.

What devices can we use to access the system?
All of CaraSolva’s modules work on any Windows, Apple, or Android device. Full system functionality is available on any cell phone or tablet.
Does this integrate with my current pharmacy?
If we aren’t currently interfaced with your long-term care pharmacy, we almost certainly can. We have an active interface with 89 different pharmacies in all 50 states and Washington, D.C.. What happens if the internet goes down?
In order to keep patient health information secure, we use always-on cloud technology that requires a user to log in to our secure server. While confidential health information will never be available offline, full system functionality is available on any cell phone or tablet with cellular data access.
Can we track things other than medications?
Absolutely! MedSupport includes vital signs, treatments, appointments, and task tracking in a unified to-do list.

How does the system handle LOAs and absences?
Pack-out functionality allows staff to document medications provided for an LOA or advanced for independent self-administration. Count controlled substances in and out to reduce the risk of diversion, and supplement the pack-out with a customized form to transfer chain of custody to the client or family members.
If an individual is hospitalized, a simple button-click suspends prompts until their return. Residential and day program prompts link, ensuring congruent documentation and no double-doses if an individual misses the program.
How does the system handle PRN (as-needed) medications?
We reduce the chance of errors with smart PRN administration. PRNs are managed by symptom, not medication name, so non-clinical staff know what med to give, when, and why.
Customizable symptoms ensure a 100% match to the written prescription, and time thresholds alert if a PRN has been given recently—across shifts and locations. Build in effectiveness checks and standard PRN order sets to maximize safety.
Can we track controlled substance counts?
Any medication in the system can be counted. Configurable settings allow for separate counts for each dose time (for blister cards) or one count per medication (for PRNs or single-container medications). Count medications at the time of administration and force blinded shift counts, configurable for one or two employees.
Does the system help with state audits?
Have peace of mind going into audits. Real-time alerts and forced-entry fields ensure that staff are documenting required information every shift. Back-office functions allow managers and nurses to add notes and document follow-up care.
During audits, role-based permissions allow you to provide reviewers read-only access to just the clients and information they need to see. Easily pull a full year of MARs or other documentation on request. Secure electronic signatures, time stamps, and other tracking demonstrate adherence to quality documentation principles.
